Reasons for Joining CM Plus Corporation

I met CM Plus when I was looking for companies which willingly recruit job seekers with a Ph.D. in architecture. At the job fair, I learned that the company operate inn a wide range of areas and that will expand further in the future. I applied for a job at CM Plus as I would like to work at a growing company.
Now I am totally convinced that I made the right choice as I work at the office where we have lively discussions while keep a cozy atmosphere.

Specific Description about My Job

Now I study about engineering*1 in general, construction management (CM)*2 job details, and GMP*3/QMS*4. Meanwhile, a project in which I will be fully engaged for the first time at this company is going to start. In that project, along with a plan to install a new line into a manufacturing facility for laundry products, my role is to identify possible risks and take measures against them, and to stay at the installation site as a project engineer and provide support so that the process will be implemented smoothly. Currently, I prepare some materials, which are part of deliverables of our consultation. Being instructed by senior colleagues, I feel fulfilled at work.
*1 Engineering: Generally, a construction project consists of three phases i.e. (1) designing, (2) procurement, and (3) construction. Among these, CM Plus specializes in "designing" and also in "project management" for optimization of the whole construction project. In addition, as a member of the client organization, CM Plus offers services to support the project as alternative resources and the brain of the client. That is called "engineering" service.
*2 CM (Construction Management): This term means both procurement management, in which efforts to be made to minimize costs including additional ones, and management technology of construction management to carry out quality construction and installation of manufacturing machines.
*3 GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice): The practices regarding production control and quality control which are required in pharmaceutical production for the purpose of assuring quality of products.
*4 QMS (Quality Management System): A management system to lead and manage an organization in terms of quality.

What I Keep in Mind at Work

In order to complete my tasks without delay, I always ask my senior colleagues for their advice on necessary corrections or my plan when I prepare materials. When I perform a task, I will be allowed to have some time to think on my own. Meanwhile, it is impossible to perform the task alone. Therefore, I think that I should actively ask my experienced colleagues for help to implement the contract steadily. I keep this point in my mind when I perform in-house tasks as well. I would like to learn skills from the senior colleagues through the process repeatedly, and to become an expert who can help others inside/outside CM Plus in the future.

Fulfilling Moments

As I am provided with a lot of opportunities and the environment to learn such as plant tours, fruitful in-house seminars, and other types of seminars, I feel fulfilled very much that I can make quite social contribution to pharmaceutical manufacturing facility construction projects while I maintain my strong motivation. I am deeply grateful for my colleagues as they are always willing to help in their busy schedule when I ask questions.

Challenges at CM Plus Corporation and Aspirations about Myself

Although my major was architecture, what I actually studied was its history. Therefore, I have a lot to learn not only GMP/QMS but also engineering, CM, and so on. I would like to work hard and absorb knowledge and experience so that I can make contribution to the company as soon as possible. In the future, I would like to be qualified for CM or as an architect so that I can serve as an expert.

Others (How I Spend Leisure Time, Hobbies, etc.)

I enjoy searching and visiting restaurants for good food and drink. I also love visiting places in Japan, learning history, and seeing buildings. For good food, drink, and sightseeing, I visited Takaoka City and Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture the other day.

Schedule of a Day

8:20 Getting to the office
Eating lightly for breakfast and checking emails until our office working hours start.
8:30 Office working hours start
Preparing for a meeting for a project. As I still need to learn a lot, I read files and documents carefully which would help me acquire knowledge as much as I can.
10:00 A study meeting on CM
Our senior employees and managers, who are veterans in this industry, provide young employees with interactive seminars for deepening understanding of construction management, which is part of our business. These are also opportunities to help employees who are studying for CCMJ (Construction Management Association of Japan) qualification.
12:00 Lunch break
Enjoying lunch with young colleagues. I sometimes go for a walk on sunny days.
13:00 Meeting
I ask my senior employees to review meeting minutes and other documents which I am currently working on and to provide me with some advice in terms of expressions or the structure. Then, we will discuss which materials should be prepared or needed in the future.
14:30 Preparing materials
Preparing materials based on what we agreed at the meeting. One project consists of various and a number of parts. Therefore, for instance, the factors, "who, what, and when" would have impacts on the combination of processes thus the time period will change accordingly. In order to visualize such changes so that people can understand easily, I prepare materials with some help from my senior employees.
16:30 Preparing a report
Preparing a report of the seminar held outside the company the other day. After I submit a report, my superior will provide me with his/her feedback. I use the feedback to improve my future documents' precision.
17:30 Leaving the office
